David L. Townsend is the owner and principal agent of the D.L. Townsend Insurance Agency.  David began his insurance career more than 25 years ago when he began working for the Godleski Insurance Agency in 1993.  David worked for GIA for 15 years before purchasing the agency in 2008.

In addition to providing service for his clients, David has also spent his time working to represent his fellow insurance agents.  David has served terms representing his peers as Coffee House Proprietor, Agent’s Advisory Council and as a Task Force Representative.  In these roles, David served as a liaison between agents and corporate management of Erie Insurance with goals to improve upon agency / company relations, product development and technology advancement.

David and his wife, Patty, reside in Peters Township, PA, not far from his office.  In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.
